The Creative Lab @McClatchy partnered with Save Mart to produce a one-of-a-kind 360° video experience that combines immersive video technology, creative animations and engaging audio to create a race game feel.
We choreographed a race around the Sonoma Raceway track between the brand’s signature shopping cart, Big Red, and classic race cars. Our studio teamed up with McClatchy’s Sandbox team to produce a one-of-a-kind virtual reality experience, integrating motion graphics into the 360° environment to create a video game feel.
Fans and customers could visit Save Mart’s Breaking Zone pavilion at the 2016 Toyota Save Mart 350 race and interact with virtual reality headsets and tablets to see what it’s like to ride in Big Red as she races classic cars around the Sonoma Raceway track.
It was a big hit with Save Mart’s customers and NASCAR fans and Save Mart can now use the 360° video gear and experience at their future events.
